Hmm, interesting. Haven't we been saying similar things for years now? What this video doesn't speak to is the fact that, while religion (institutional church attendance) may be dying out, there is a growing number of people who are actually leaving these religious institutions, not because they no longer believe, but rather in order to preserve their faith. Ironic? Maybe.
The religious / faith landscape is changing. That much is correct. But it's changing in a positive way and not in a negative way as implied in this CNN video. If asked on a census poll, I would also say that I'm not affiliated with any religious institution. Their study really has failed to ask the right questions. Church attendance and local membership may be in decline, but the de-institutionalized church is alive and well and continues to grow. Praise God!
